Bottled 330ml (BZ)
Golden color, small white head. Oak and vanilla, typical Innis&Gunn aroma, also some cardboard. Light bodied, fizzy. Sweet vanilla flavor, same time harsh bitterness. This is very typical I&G beer. Base beer is bland but has some sticky hoppyness which with vanilla overdose makes unbalanced combination.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, golden colour with a medium-sized and minimally off-white foamy head. Not only slightly oaky malty aroma with a tinge of caramel, marzipan and vanilla. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a calm carbonation. Oaky and toffeish malt flavours harming potentially fruity notes; sweet and shy bitter, also still oaky finish with loads of vanilla. I am not a fan of this. 19.XI.11

0.33l bottle. The blond pours a clear caramel brown body with a small bubbly off-white sidesticking head. Aroma is at first kinda bad-lagerish mild metallic-hopy, then some nice strong notes of caramel with some hints of oak. Oily to watery mouthfeeling, average carbonation level and medium-bodied. the flavor is as all the Innis & Gunn-beers I've tasted, strongly caramel dominating. Also notes of oak, nuts and butter in the finish and a really longlasting sweet caramel, vanilla and something I will describe as a ash-oaky flavor in the aftertaste. Not like any other blond I've ever had, but nice enough.

Bottle @ benzai. Slightly unclear yellow golden orange colour with a slightly lacing white head. Smells caramel, toffee, some wood, ’Haagse hopjes’. Tastes caramel, toffee, pretty weird, sweet, ’Haagse hopjes’. Medium body (mostly because of the sweetness), soft carbo.

33cl bottle. Pours a golden ale with gentle bubbles and a thin head. The nose has demerara sugar. The taste is sugary and malty. The palate is actually not badly balanced - rich and creamy but quite clean on the end.Overall, it is very drinkable and not as cloying as some of its stablemates.

Originally rated July 2009. Always nice to see a new Innis & Gunn brew at the LCBO. Was quite surprised to see a blonde from them, but this one said "lightly oaked and with hints of vanilla"... so sounded good. Pours a golden colour with hints of orange in it. Medium head and retention with a little lacing. Full pilsener scent at first pour, then turning into grain, light fruit and nut. Nothing too strong though. The taste is pretty interesting with a fruity start, a little nut, oak and vanilla in between, and some notes of mint in the finish. A bit thick of a mouthfeel to be really refreshing, but a good session different blonde.

330ml bottle. Pours gold with a medium head. Aroma is strong vanilla and some woodiness. Taste is vanilla and shandy. A bit weird, but it works, I think.
