Gold,white head.Woody nose. Woody vanilla profile with tea overtones. Interesting, but nothing special

Small white head. Deep yellow body. Perfumy fruit floral aroma. Dryish perfumy vanilla and flowers taste with papery notes. Mid-bodied. Low fizz. Very clean palate. Mild dry hoppy aftertaste. Not very flavourful. Quite nice, but very mild, almost bland. (Taster at Dr. Jekyll’s, Oslo.)

Bottle. Vibrant golden beer, almost orange. The aroma is lightly vanilla, and the flavour is very well hopped with a whisky like and bitter finish. Overall a reasonably flavoured beer.

Bottle 330ml. Clear boltte.Clear medium yellow orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, parsley, pepper mint, oak, toffee, vanilla notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090408]

Bottle: Poured a deep bright golden blond color ale with a medium size foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of light vanilla and some very subtle tart notes form the oak is quite intriguing with a nice mix of pale malt. Taste is also a mix of very subtle vanilla with some pure malt and a light oak finish. Body is about average with some good carbonation. Not something I would go for very often but interesting mix nonetheless.

A golden ale with a thin white head. A malty grainy mash aroma with notes of skunk, light woody notes. In mouth,a lnice malt with whisky barrel notes, light vanilla, and more German-like hops. Medium bodied. Bottle from LCBO. 3.45$.

[330ml bottle from Sainsbury’s, Reading - at half price!] I’ve loved the three previous I&G beers I’ve had, and was looking forward to this - although with some reservations given the other reviews on here. It pours a deep gold with a moderate fizzy white head. Smell is disappointing for an Innis & Gunn beer - the sourness of a cheap lager. This carries on through the initial taste - it’s horribly fizzy, thin and watery, and there’s more hints of sourness. However, a few more gulps revealed that glorious Innis & Gunn taste of oak, vanilla, whisky and just a hint of cough mixture, and I was reminded of why the previous Innis & Gunn beers that I’ve tasted have made it one of my favourite beer brands. Considering it’s oak aged, it’s quite light and refreshing, and clearly aims to be the "summer" beer of the range. Once you realise this, the thin-ness stops worrying you, and you realise it is actually quite thirst quenching and easy drinking - it certainly doesn’t feel as strong as the 6% would suggest, which probably makes it quite dangerous! However, the sourness and fizziness continue to haunt you to the end. Overall it’s not too bad, but it’s definitely the worst from the I&G stable - don’t make this your first I&G beer! c4

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a small off-white head. Sweetness, vanilla, cookies, some butterscotch and a light fruityness in the aroma. Vanilla-sweet and oaked flavor, fruity, but on the malty side, with malt, grains and butterscotch. Medium body, and a weak, short, fruity and malty finish. A rather unusual beer, but I liked it. Could do without the butterscotch though, but there’s not enough of it to ruin the beer. (080305)
