Clear and pale gold with a creamy white head and a floral, fruity aroma. Crisp and hoppy, with sweet biscuit malt up front and citrus hop bitterness in the finish, some sweet floral and fruity notes in the mix too

Cask at Slaters, Stafford. Served too cold, so may require a rerate. Pours a golden yellow with a creamy white head and good lacing. Clear, but is slow to settle. An undistinguished nose – just a few hops. Taste has malts to the fore, with hops underneath and just a trace of citrus. But the was also a strange metallic taste, which I’m not sure was supposed to be there. Finish is bitter lemon. Run of the mill.

The beer that was thrown out of Parliament. Cask. Clear yellow color, fluffy white head. Aroma of peppery straw. Taste is peppery lemon. Could also be thrown out for being boring.

Not sure what message the name (or the pumpclip) sends out to our impressionable youth... but I’m rating the beer. Cask at the Admiral Benbow, Shrewsbury. Light to mid-gold with a suave creamy white head. Nothing in the aroma to suggest any individuality in the beer, but certainly inoffensive, pleasant even. Much improved taste: clean, sweetish, citrusy and balanced. Lemon drop in the finish. As bored as I am of these golden beers, many of them are quite nice and some are very good. This is quite nice.
