...created to aid in deciphering the puzzles along life’s road, and interpreting signs in the voyages of the spirit. Brewed in homage to the wisdom of visionaries everywhere who blaze paths into uncharted territories.

Our take on an India Pale Ale (IPA.) A deep golden amber ale with a rich up-front malty nose finishing with a big, hoppy bite. Dry-hopped to finish with a big fresh (Cascade) hop flavor.

Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting yeast.

12 ounce bottle from the summer sampler. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, toffee and earthy, bitter hops. The taste is bitter citrus, tea and leafy hop notes with some malts in the background. Medium bodied. Nice, refreshing IPA. 5/27/10

OK, so its an IPA from Hat, is that why there are so many ratings here, before I even knew it existed? Opens with a sweet olfactory, almost perfumy but aceeptable. Cloudy brownish bile yellow. Taste is probably the most hoppy thing I ever tasted from the Hat. Bitter rude and roto-tilling, quite and impression. Some carbonation and when you look for it the flavor becomes a little malty. On style and the rudeness builds thru the session. A big double space after the period. Towards the end this stuff begins to border on IIPA territory. Excessively nasty long soap in mouth finsih, again on style for you IPA soda jerks.

I was expecting a wild take on this beer style, but instead I got a good take on the IPA that was not too much different from other IPAs out there. It was nice and hoppy, but still inviting. The bite was not that huge, but was defieteley there. Maybe Magic Hat’s description borders on hyperbole, but at least the beer was good.

A hazy orange beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is sweet grassy with light spicy notes - I find the aroma a bit sharp. The flavor is malty with notes of oranges lingering in the background, on which is dry spicy notes and light hoppy notes. In the beginning I find the hops mostly English in impression (Nothern Brewer?), but towards the end it get citrusy and Cascade-like. And the body is a bit thin.

Pours dark gold into a shaker. Thin micro head recedes to skim surface and remains. Lemon citrus aromas. Flat, basement mung bucket. Sour and stale. Notch above drain pour...at least.

decent IPA, dark amber color, white head that quickly dissipates to a light film. Lightly hopped, but overall not too bad

Hazy dark amber ale with thin white head. Faded hops and caramel malts in aroma, with light but pleasant grapefruits. In mouth, hops are more pleasant yet restrained, with nice grapefruits notes, but lighter bodied. Still, very quaffable. Bottle is about 1 yr old.
