Bouteille 330ml, dégustée au Bistro des Bières Belges à Saint-Hubert. De couleur rouge-brune et claire. Nez malté de caramel sucré et de toffee terreux, moyen de fruits (raisins, léger de prunes, traces de cerises) et d’alcool liquoreux et léger de sucre brun avec des traces d’épices. Moyenne-ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture légèrement crémeuse et liquoreuse. Goût fruité (moyen de raisins, notes de cerises, traces de prunes) accompagné de faibles notes épicées (cannelle) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute rapidement un goût malté de caramel sucré, légèrement terreux et aux petites notes rôties, un moyen goût de toffee et des traces de chocolat noir puis en finale l’on retrouve un léger-moyen goût d’alcool liquoreux avec de faibles notes de houblon herbeux. Post-goût long et aux petites notes sèches, légèrement amer d’alcool avec des notes fruitées (moût de raisins) et des traces de rôti. (hiver 2006-07)

330ml bottle. Pours a dark orangey brown with a large frothy head. Aroma is caramel malt, some yeast and apple too but faint. Taste is some apple to start. Lots of caramel malt on the finish. Hides the alcohol.

Draught, small quite stable head, amazinf clear deep burgundy red colour, just like a ruby, aroma of nuts, dried fruits, caramel and soy, flavours of caramel brown sugar and dried fruit and a cloying alcoholic presence. Dissapointing

Pours a ruby red to hazel coloured beer. Creamy head, doesn't stay long though. Sweet roasted scents, hint of ripe banana. Mouthfeeling is quite flat at first, after that the carbon starts kicking in. Sweet taste, a little bitter and a little roasted flavours come out. More of the same in the aftertaste, with a slightly bitterness in the end.

Very dark, almost black, with a big head and massive lacing. Aroma of a highland caber with a few herbs attached. Flavor begins with butterscotch and malt, background of light spice, and then progresses to a slightly dry, bitter finish. Very complex. Good body. definitely to be sought after, a nice wee brew.

Bottle from Utobeer market stall. Poured into the Gordon’s thistle glass. Pours a clear chestnut brown with a beige head. Aromas of raisins, sweet spices, chocolate, demerara sugar. Flavours of caramel, licorice, slightly vinous, dark fruits. Finishes malty and hoppy.
