22/7/2018. Cask at the Keel Row, Newcastle. Pours slightly murky dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, nut, toffee, dried fruits and a hint of chocolate. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium to full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation. A strong tasting solid performing brown ale.

5.7 Cask at Isis Sunderland. Pours clear brown with a thin white head. Aromas of toilet blocks, sulphur, burnt match. Taste is sweet, toilets again. Mineral finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 3/3/2014. Deep brown with a decent, off-white head. Brown sugar, some fruits, hint of roast and gentle finish. Good.

Cask (Ivy House, Sunderland) - Dark brown with some orangey tinges. Chestnuts, brown sugar and malt in the aroma. Roasted and nutty taste wih dried fruit, chestnuts and brown sugar detected.

cask in cloisters .. deep red brown ... thin tan lacing ...sweet roast malts ... big sweeet toffee malt ... juicy fruits ... light dry bitter

Cask @ 3 Judges. Brown colour, tan head. Aroma has some roasted malts. Flavour: roasted malts, coffee, hint of chocolate. Aroma doesn’t give it away, but this one is actually very nice, very drinkable.
