Brewed for the 5 year anniversary of BeerTemple, Amsterdam. American North-West double IPA 8% abv, 75ebu, 15ebc with 5 hops for each year BeerTemple: simcoe, chinook, citra, amarillo & columbus.
The Big Fat 5 is the housebeer for the BeerTemple but also available at the other Morebeer Bars; Proeflokaal Arendsnest, 'cause BEER loves FOOD and Craft & Draft.
To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the BeerTemple, we asked Robbert Uyleman of Brewery ’t Uiltje to make an IPA with us for this special occasion! Dry-hopped to the bone, and as fresh as it can be! Straight from the tank into the kegs, transported with a refrigerated truck and into our own fridge, this IPA will never lose his bitter coolness before you start drinking...

(Keg at OlutExpo 2016) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness and citricness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, fruitiness, malts, grapefruit and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A nice hoppy brew.

Draught @ Olutexpo 2016. Pours deep golden color with a thick white head. Aroma has pine, grapefruit, resin, wood. Flavor has citrusy hops, grapefruit, ripe sweetness, aggressive bitterness. Really tasty dipa.

Bottle 0.33l at home, Riihimäki. Big fat thanks to MonsterMagnet! BBE 04 MAR 17. Colour is cloudy orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Some hashness, pineapple, tropical fruits, pine, hops and malts. Strong flavours.

Bottle, BB 08.07.2017 (from beernavigator). Pours amber with whiteish head. The head stays for some time, nice lacing. Aroma is hoppy, piney, sweet, malt, caramel. Flavor is sweet and bitter, pine, caramel, malt, some citrus, slight carrots and salt. Finish is pine bitter. Covers alcohol well, drinkability is good. Overall: very good, reminds piney-hoppy American IPA-s (but is a bit less refined and hoppy).

Draught @ Proeflokaal Arendsnest, Herengracht 90, Amsterdam, Netherlands 1015 BS. [ As Morebeer / Uiltje Big Fat 5 Double IPA ].Light unclear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt, sweet malt, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus, fruity hops, riped fruit. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dried fruit, riped fruit, sweet malt, caramel, pale malt, medium dry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20160902]

On tap at Arendsnest Amsterdam. Hazy amber colour. Lasting white head. Some sherbet hop some heat some dank hop. Hoppy enough. Good dipa.

Tap@Fermentoren (CBC Week), Copenhagen - pours orange amber with a white head. Aroma and taste is sweet tropical fruits, grapefruit, tangerine, citrus peel, with good malty backbone, caramel, pine needles, bitter finish.
