Cask, Ship and Mitre, Liverpool. Deep dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of coffee and molasses. Sweet, roasty toasty flavour, bit strange, something like manuka smoked caramac. Caught the buzz on this one.

Cask handpull at Crosse Keys ’Sporks. Black with dark brown edges, lasting beige head. Decent roasted malt, good sting on finish. Charcoal, but juicy, a little sweetness from the honey. Aaarh, now I see it’s got honey in it, it’s obvious. There was something in the swallow I couldn’t identify. But yes definite honey and a tasty beer.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 30/3/08. Very dark brown with some reddish undertones. Plenty of caramel and fruit aromas with a touch of the bee hive. Flavour began with some coffee and dark chocolate, before a crunchie bar finish. Drinkable.

Sampled cask conditioned at Akkurat, Stockholm.
Very dark brown. Citric, balsamic honey aromatic, roasty aroma. Sweet with some burnt flavours and a soft cottony mouthfeel. The finish is warming hoenyish. Unusual and quite tasty.
