Cask at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a darkish straw colour with a small white head and good lacing. Lemon and tropical fruits in the aroma. In the mouth, the initial sensation is of tropical fruits, citrus and pine. Later, other flavours can be detected – honey, almonds and a hint of grapefruit. Quite nice but not wildly exciting.

Handpull cask at the Criterion, Leicester. Golden and clear as a bell. Small head with lots of natural carbonation. Strange aroma: almost herby notes with muted citrus notes. Tastes quite good: bittersweet, fruity and balanced but it’s a touch phenolic in the aftertaste in my opinion. Not overly excited by this one. Shame as so many of Salopian’s beers are good.

Cask @ The Old Hall, Sandbach. Clear golden with a small head. It’s very hoppy with a dryness and a smoothish texture.
