A creamy, hoppy and almost flowery pint with a sharp bitter finish and a subtle aroma that made me think the beer was going to be blander than it was.

Aroma: Straw and earthy notes.

Appearance: Clear golden body with a small white head. No carbonation. Excellent lacing.

Taste: Light citrus, verging on sour. Earthy and a little soapy. Lingering bitter finish.

Palate: Thin to medium body with a very oily mouthfeel. Flat carbonation.

Overall: A solid, decent golden ale, but it’s not special or memorable. Very light at just 4.0% ABV.

Half, cask, hand-pump dispense at Drum & Monkey. Patchy white head. Near-clear golden body. Restrained smell of herbal hops and earthy malts. Resinous hops to the taste buds added by biscuit malts. Rounded, dry bitter tail. Nice (Glasgow, 11.04.2012).

Cask @ Snowgoose, Inverness.
Light golden colour, crystal clear, thin white head with moderate lacing.
Nose of light citrus hop, light malts, faint grass.
Taste - citrus hop with some light earthy/herbal hop, light malts, bit watery....bit boring.
Palate - thin body, soft carb, citrus tang, light bitter. FInish same as main flavour with citrus tang,
This golden ale is a little above average, but was a bit disappointed with this one as Harviestoun do make some superb beers- unfortunately, this isn’t one of them.
