Winter Solstice® is our take on the classic style of “winter warmer.” Boasting a deep amber hue and rich mouthfeel, its creamy finish will lift your spirits. Hints of toffee, spice, and caramel tease the senses making this the perfect ale to share with friends and family during the cold days and long nights of winter.

2008 Bottle Pours with an average sized light brown head and a clear bronze body. Aroma of wet dog, butter, brown sugar, molasses, corn nuts and cereal. Taste is brown sugar, pie crust, butter, light peanuts, and butterscotch. Water like mouthfeel and light bubbles.

Orange, grapefruit, and caramel bouquet. Tea colored with a medium yellow head. Cashew and oraneg flavor. The cashew lingers and becomes tiresome. Not wintery, but unique and good.

06 Winter Solstice-12oz bottle-pours a thin retaining light tan head and copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel, medium fruit-cherry, faint spices. Taste is sweet medium malt-caramel, medium fruit-cherry, faint spices, then overpowered by metallic/spicy hops. Finish is metallic. Medium body. OK effervescence.

12 oz bottle. Dark reddish amber, thin head. Aroma is cherries, spice, roasted malts, brown sugar, cinnamon, toffee, and something I never can place on these holiday beers. Flavor was just the same. Very sweet but I could not imagine having more than one at any particular time.

Bomber pours clear amber with nice off with to tan head. Full aroma of plums, cherries, spice, a hint of roasted malts and powdered sugar. The taste is nice, rich and thick. Just what I was hoping for. I get cherries, sugar coated plums, boysenberries, pomegranates and mild spice. Midway the roastiness shows up creating a real nice mix of flavors. Great winter sort of low ABV beer that works well. At the end a pale toffee maltiness takes over the flavor to help close on the experience. Yum.

Bottle. Wow! roma is odd, innovative and hits me in the face as I’m pouring. I’m grinding gears to describe it well, but I would say it is vinous and has notes of anise, chalk, alcohol, white raisins and bourbon. Body is a cloudy brown hue that is pretty fizzy at first and it is one of those odd beers that release a lot of carbonation as you sip. This is a bit distracting and detracts from my enjoyment. Flavor is fairly sweet and those vinous and bourbon notes have me wondering if it is barrel aged... (if you made me guess, I would have said so.) Brown sugar and a touch of dark fruit in the palate. Hmmm... I hoped for better.

Draught. poured off amber with thin white head. Citrusy and spicy aroma. Mucl lacing. Flavours of vanilla, cherry and malt. Lasting vanilla flavour, much like very good vanilla ice cream. Some chocolate in the mouth.

Bottle (2004 vintage). Hazy orange colour, small white head. Aroma is very toffeeish, some berries and slightly caramel malts and hoppy. Flavour is a real fudge bomb along with orange, vanilla and some hops. A very nice beer!
