Traditional Scottish stout with a creamy, toasted oatmeal flavour. Lightly hopped with a complex roast malt aroma and a smooth silky aftertaste. As dark, mysterious & interesting as the glen it’s named after. Arguably better than the best Guiness!!!

Cask at The Hop Pole pubs Easter Beer Festival, Aylesbury in the company of Loz, Chris O, Ruth, Barry, Lynn 21-03-08 Good roasted smooth toasty bitterness to this. Pours black with tiny tan head smooth and easy drinking, bit earthy and some bitter chocolate. Good beer that could just have done with a little bit more going on to elevate it into very good beer territory.

Cask@Loughborough Beer Festival 2007. Black beer with a light head. The aroma is lightly dandelion and burdock, and the flavour is weirdly floral with a dandelion and burdock finish. Overall a weird stout, I do not know what to make of it.

deep black, burnt malt nose, again the flavour has just a bit too much burntness for me

Bag-in-box. 4.5% Malty/sweet, roasted aroma. Black colour, no head. Very flat. Flavour is OK, but it could use more carbonation. Roasted, malty flavour. 7 3 6 2 8

(On tap) Clear and black with a reddish hue. No head and completely flat. Distinct aroma of coffee. Very roasted malt character and again - weakly burned flavours of coffee. Quite pleasant. 301005

Cask at Catford Beer Festival. Quite a good stout. Black in colour, but the head did not last overly long. Nice nose of grain and coffee. Goodish in mouth with roasted coffee chocolate finish.

[At Jyske Øldage 2004, Kolding] A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aorma is sweet roasted with light notes of coffee. The flavor is malty and roasted with notes of coffee on a slightly sour background.
