Dos Equis Amber is a rich, full-bodied Mexican import with a reddish-gold color and is made from the finest ingredients, representing the brand’s traditional Mexican heritage. The history of Dos Equis Amber is traced to the development of the popular Oktoberfest-style of Vienna lager originally created during the mid-19th century.

I like this better in Mexico and tend to not drink it here (different recipe perhaps of loss of freshness). I have had some in Mexico which was a fine beer in any case. Malty, clean, pleasantly hopped. It was my beer of choice while in Mexico until I discovered Leon Negra.

Notes from January 2011 Another dingleberry left over from New Years Eve. Rare Vos tumbler. Couple inches of creamer-colored head. Rich, shiny copper brew. Smells of sticky caramelized wort with a touch of cider & bottle cap. Sharp metallic twang upfront. Taste is salty & stale biscuits. Finish tastes like boiled veggie water & hair. Carbonation is out in front trying to detour you away from the actual taste. Frothy, but once you get underneath it, it is very watery. The alcohol stands practically naked. If it didn't look so pretty in a glass I wouldn't of even tried.

355 ml bottle. Clear amber with a small head. Malt, caramel, citrus. Malty sweetness, mild dry bitterness. Light bodied, watery texture, lively carbonated, dry malty sweet finish. Quite okay for what it is.

On tap at The Tap (Yakima), pours a clear amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma has some unpleasant vegetal notes, with a gently toasted malt base. Flavour is vegetal and herbal, with gentle toasted malt that is ruined by the awful vegetal character. Garbage.
