Golden blond beer with a beautiful firm, white head and an aroma of vanilla, white pepper and some fruity scents. The main palate is soft sweet, creamy with a moderate alcohol impression. The aftertaste, on the other hand, is softly bitter with flavors of stone fruits, mainly peach and nectarine. In short, a tasteful and gentle blond with a complaisant character.

75 cl. bottle, bought at the brewery in Aarschot. Hazy pale golden with abundant and thick white froth. Aroma is mostly secondary: wild yeast, bread dough, cookie. Citrus fruit and coriander as well. Taste is dry, fresh, round and long-lasting. Very nice, asks for a second pint.

Dorada, bastante clara. Estupenda espuma. Buen aroma malteado con recuerdo de vainilla. En boca mantiene la suavidad de la malta al principio. Luego ligero toque frutal para acabar con posgusto moderadamente amargo. Carbonatación media deja un conjunto muy agradable. Bastante buena.

Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB March 2016, large sample. Almost clear deep golden color, huge frothy slight white head. Aroma is spicy, flowery hops, bit citrus, coriander, slight peppery. More spices in flavor, fruity, dry, soft bitterness. Dry finish, bitterness comes through more. Quite nice stuff. A welcome addition actually and not solely focusing on the power of the yeast. Good.

(Draught at Delirium Tap Bar, Brussels, 22 Oct 2014) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with frothy white head. Fruity, malty nose with tropical fruit, pineapple and candy sugar. Malty, fruity taste with notes of tropical fruit, candy sugar, pineapple, peaches and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced, but on the sweeter side. Quite nice.

Lupus’ third, with off-white head and deep golden blonde colour with ochre hue. Malty aroma, unpleasant impression of cooked corn, some grassy hops, esters; light fruity taste, dryish, malty backbone with again something corn-like, soft and very mildly hopped, thin finish. A disappointment, but considering the other ratings here, perhaps it has become better meanwhile. I’ll re-rate when I get a fresh bottle.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/13/2013. Pours slight hazy deep golden color with a 2-3 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Incredible appearance. Aromas of big lemon, apricot, pear, apple, white grape, pepper, candi sugar, bread, herbal, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, apricot, pear, apple, white grape, pepper, candi sugar, bread, herbal, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, apricot, pear, apple, white grape, pepper, candi sugar, herbal, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a really excellence Belgian pale ale. All around great complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
