Ale brewed with Rice
Behold! The fifth collaborative effort of Three Floyds and Mikkeller. This complex ale is just the beverage for canal boat trips in Copenhagen or the brutal Chicago winter. This year’s offering will be brewed in both Europe and in Chicago. Look for both editions and the subtle differences in each. Cheers and thanks for supporting craft beer.
Admin note: Check the bottle to see if this is the one brewed at Three Floyds, rather than the Mikkeller brewed version.

@zebf 2014 - Golden, honeyed colour. Aroma is very fruity and malty - sweet. Initially it feels quite thick and lucious but it almost evaporates on the tongue. Dry finish with hints of bitter orange syrup.

Orange color, small white head. Resiny, sweaty hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Citrus, resiny hoppy, some rice is evident. Better than Mikkeller version, not much.

1800th review! 22 ounce bottle into signature tulip glass, bottled in 8/2012. Pours moderately hazy bright orange amber color with a 2 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest, orange rind, floral, grass, pine, honey, bread, candy sugar, and floral earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good complexity of hop notes with moderate pale malt balance; and good strength. Taste of pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, pine, lemon/orange zest, orange rind, floral, grass, honey, candy sugar, bread, and floral earthiness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, orange/lemon zest, orange rind, pine, floral, grass, honey, candy sugar, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity of hop flavors with moderate pale malt balance; with great crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a lightly slick, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic blonde barelywine! All around awesome complexity and balance of hop and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Hazy deep gold beer, big off white head. Palate is light and a little crisp. Lovely lovely hoppy goodness! A touch of light skunk, sweet pine, orange led tropical fruits. Mango also prominent. Finishes smooth with mild creamy malt, skunk and more tropical fruits. Fabulous!
