The Bush Prestige is a Bush Caractère that, rather than maturing in stainless steel tanks, has spent six months finishing in oak barrels.
During the bottling process, small amounts of sugar and yeast are added to the beer so it re-ferments in the bottle during its stay in the brewery’s warm room. This develops the natural yeast cloud and gives the beer its exceptionally high alcohol volume of 13%.
Reviving the traditional use of oak barrels has introduced aromas and tannins that haven’t been experienced in beer for many years. Even the most demanding beer lover will be bowled over by these qualities. Think of the aromas of whisky and other spirits matured on oak coupled with an extraordinarily rounded character.

75cl bottle. Murky brown with slightly tan head, creamy and with good persistence. Aroma is sweet, alcoholic and dry. Flavour is alcoholic, moderate, bittery, with fruity and honey notes. Are also present notes of cognac and wood. On the palate results a beer with full body and an aftertaste dry and with honey hints. Carbonation is lively. Texture is moderate oily.

Ett mycket välbalanserat och komplett öl som troligtvis bara hade blivit bättre om det fått vara kvar i flaskan några år till. Drickvänligt med fylliga och runda smaker av frukt och godis där alkoholstyrkan inte stör. Vinöst, ektoner och en liten rökighet märks. Fantastiskt!

Bottle bought at the bottle shop near Erasmus in Brugge. A deep brown/amber coloured pour with a decent beige head. Boozy Belgian aroma. Really complex, strong, fruity, oaky, cognac, smooth, caramel, spice. So much going on in this masterpiece. An expensive brew that is worth experiencing at least once. I drank it on New Years Eve 2010. Excellent.

Bottle from Beer Planet, Brussels. Deep amber pour with an off-white head. Tobacco, curacao and wood aromas. Very vinous. Marmalade, oak and full on fruit flavours. Some tobacco linger in the taste. Very rich, vinous mouthfeel. Fruit filled finish. Noble brew.

750mL bottle, pours hazy golden amber with a beige head. Aroma of bubblegum, spices, yeast, and caramel. Flavour of complex spices, bubblegum, caramel, yeast, and fruit. Delicious, though overpriced.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, at the 16th Kerstbierfestival) The beer poured brown and bit hazy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had wood, vanilla, sourness and alcohol. Palate was frull bodied, dry and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were wood, vanilla, malts, sourness, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was mildly bitter and woody. Nice to have a Bush that’s not a complete boozy mess but actually a decent beer.

Bottle 150 cl. As: "Bush Millennium Cuvée 2000". Courtesy of fiulijn - thanks a ton Alex. Pours a cloudy opaque amber golden with a small off-white head. Sweet aroma of wood and alcohol. Solid body, caramel, overripe fruit, lots of wood and even more caramel. Warming alcohol finish. Clearly oxidized but still an amazingly delicious beer. 060510
(Bottle 75 cl) As "Bush Prestige". Vintage 2004. Hazy, amber golden with tiny, floating impurities and a bubbly, off-white head. Fat aroma of whisky and oak barrels. Medium body, dry caramel accents - like in a white Port - with distinct and very sophisticated accents of vanilla and oak. Dry and slightly astringent finish with some alcohol. Nice rich brown/copper coloured body with a dense tan head. Aroma of strong alcohol, oak, vanilla, pit fruits, raisins, nuts, a touch of earth and some very mild soapiness. Medium-bodied; Strong roasty flavours with a bit of oak, vanilla, cognac, grapes and a light sweetness all show over top of some very mild hops, pit fruits and brown sugar. Aftertaste shows very nicely with the malt standing out the most, then the deep roasty sugar flavours. Overall, a very nice beer and definitely worth trying! Too bad the bottle was US$50 - but at least it came in a nice box! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased by my wife on 22-December-2008 at Oliver’s Beverage, sampled on the evening before my wedding day - 08-August-2009.
