75 cL bottle, thanks to Ungstrup. Pours dark brown, no head. Aroma is slight roasted malty. Flavour is slight acidic breaking the malty flavour. Finish is slight sour and slight acidic into the finish.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a hazy, dark brown with an orange hue. Head is completely absent. Lightly tart, spicy nose. A little thin and almost completely flat. No real malty feel - just this weird acidity. Must’ve been a bad bottle. 280907

This is a fairly light saison. Aroma is mildly spiced, it is a nice aroma but not very powerful. The wild yeast is evident, with minimal horseblanket. Some sour flavor. Yeast is prominent, as well as fruit including cherry in addition to unknown light spices. Herbal, and clove finish. Dark brown color.

Bottle. Spours a dark brown colour with an off-white head. Roasted and spicy aroma. Malty and very spicy flavor leaving you with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Dark brown color, brown head. Aroma of roasted and chocolate malt, some hop, licorice. Bitter taste, very malty, bit spicy. Weird balance, like most of the Fantome beers. There is a certain degree of quality in its beers, but still most of them are slightly overrated IMO.

Hazy brown ale with a light moka head. Light nutty funky aroma. Sour brown with nutty notes, wild berries, pepper, strange. Reminded me of spoiled brown ale, though. Mondiale 2005.

Bottle. Very dark brown beer with a thin beige head. Swet malt and spice aroma. Flavor starts out as sour, but after the first few sips, tones down a bit and you can taste a bit of sweetness and some spices and a bit of red stone fruit (plum, sour cherry). Nice and refreshing, hides alcohol well.

Bottle: Poured a deep murky brown color ale with a huge dirty brown color head with good retention. Aroma of funky yeast, tart and strange spices. Taste is quite different from anything I had before and includes traces of unknown spices, roasted malt, funky yeast and a sour finish. Again, a very interesting experiment from Danny but IMHO not as good as the Strange Ghost.

Dark brown colour. Rich head. I could go on and try to describe the complexity of the aromas and the flavours, but I think I will take the easy way out and put it like this; Fantôme Black Ghost smells and tastes A LOT like "Anchor Our Special Ale".

I have never, ever seen so much pressure from a beer. We lost a quarter of the bottle opening it up. Green apples, barnyard, tart, cheese, spice in the nose. Very tart start to the mouth with green apples, earth, mold, but not rounded at all. Needs timie. Sour apples alcohol finish.
