A timeless classic. We have been brewing Ottakringer Helles ever since the brewery was established. It has been in a constant state of change and has developed its taste with time: The best hops and malt, and mild spring water from our in-house brewery well provide an even balance between a light malt aroma with fruity notes and pleasant bitterness. The straw colour and fresh yeast aroma are trademarks of this beer.

Gezapft am Wiener Flughafen. Gelb-Gold, wenig Schaum, klar. Intensives Zitrusaroma, Hopfen. Voller und sanft-weicher Antrunk. Nicht sonderlich ausgeprägte Bitternote, leicht süßlich.

Pours clear blonde. Ok white head. Smell is weak, bit funky. Taste is bit bitter, easy drinkable. Original review text: From tap at crossfield, served in a frozen glass. Smell is weak. Taste is citrussy, dry malty, bit medicinal, almost, but in a Nice way. Sweet touch, very intense, magnificent corn aspects. Very Nice , one of the best lagers to date !

Bottle @ Czmping Neue Donau, Vienna, Austia. Pours light golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, grain, light hay, light cardboard. Flavor is light sweet, malt, grain, hay. Thin to medium body, lively carbonation. 120816

Pours gold from the can with a big frothy head. Aroma is sour dough bread, malty. Taste is grainy, sour lemon, light malt sweetness. The light bitterness in the finish is not altogether pleasant. Not much else going on here. Drinkable.

Can sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Ariel. Clear yellow with a white head. Aroma of graininess, a bit of corn, some grassy hops. Sweetish flavor, grainy, bready, with light bitterish noble hops. Light-bodied. Easy-drinking.

Jan. ’16. On tap at the Crossfields, where I had gallons of both their house beers back in 2005, but I wasn’t on RB back then. It poured a clear golden-yellow body with weak, lightly lemon and grass hop with hay aroma. Lightly sweet flavor, chalky, grainy with decent honey malt notes and balanced out with mildly bitter citric hops. Pleasant. Full body for a pale lager with moderately long finish that follow the taste, even emphasized that honey. Totally fine.

From bottle on train between Vienna and Zagreb 06.10.15. Clear straw colour. White head. Moderate aroma and taste with some grain and grass. Very low bitterness. No off-tastes.
