The 2013 Fuller’s Vintage, our 17th edition, is brewed with four of this year’s finest hop varieties: Goldings, Sovereign, Challenger and the trophy-winning Admiral. WIth a dry spring and wet summer, we have chosen a winter barley wich, when combined with our unique yeast, gives a rich and complex result.

Cask @ Bishops Arms Gustav, Malmö. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty dark fruit caramel aroma. Fruity malty dark fruit caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty caramel dark fruit finish.

Cask at GBB ’13, 15/08/13. Lightly hazed dark amber with a verythin off white head. Nose is dark fruit mash, light caramel, sugars, figs, raisens. Taste comprises raisens, caramelised sugars, dark fruits, fruit loaf, figs, dates. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, dry finish with a touch of booze. Drinkable stuff but you can tell it’s not quite ready yet, a little unrefined and raw around the edges, revisit in 5 years time!

From cask. Pours cloudy amber with a small tan head. Aroma is toasted malty, breadish and caramelish. Toffee malty, caramelish, light sweet and subdued bitter. Lingering caramelish into the finish. Mild bitterness to counterbalance.

Cask at GBBF 2013, Olympia, London. An amber/brown coloured pour with a small white head on top. Sweet, fruity, caramel aroma. Tastes is similar, quite sweet, fruity, caramel, vanilla, rich. This is only young but I bet it’ll be a cracker in 10 years time.

On tap at GBBF 2013. Russet colour hazy. Syrup and fruit aroma. It’s good. The pepper hops and some plum fruit are good. Lacks a bit of carbonation will get better as it ages, good beer touch too syrupy at the moment. 3.7/5 Re-rate bottle no. 093524 from a colleague as a Secret Santa. I mean it’s Fullers Vintage Ale so I love it, it is a little more plummy raisiny fruity than other vintages and has settled down a lot more than previous ones. This already has even a hint of dryness on the finish. Sweetish caramel on the aroma, fullish in the mouth and some soft/harsh pepper hedgerow fruit on the finish. The finish in particular is pretty spectacular. Tasty as hell, doesn’t taste of 8.5%, carries the alcohol amazingly well. Love that chewing a blackthorn bush leaf taste on the lasting finish. Delicious. Perfect carbonation. Really good. Thank you who ever gave this to me.

Cask at GBBF 2013. It pours clear deep mahogany brown with a small white head. The nose is earthy, wood, honey, caramel, dried fruit, fruit cake and icing sugar. The taste is soft, mellow, raisin, sultana, dried apricot, fig, prune, cake, toffee, brown sugar and light alcohol with a dry, clean finish. Medium-full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Smooth and very easy going for a fresh fullers vintage. Definitely one of the most drinkable vintages of recent years. Nice.
