This was the first beer to come out of our vats, back in 1985, making it the Brouwerij ‘t IJ classic beer. It is a ‘tripel’, the category reserved for the stronger blonde beers crafted in the Belgian tradition, and Zatte more than lives up to expectations. It’s a full-bodied, golden beer with a scent of fresh fruit mingled here and there with a hint of grain. The flavour is slightly sweet, ending with a fine, dry aftertaste. A delicious classic to be enjoyed in all seasons.

33cl bottle. Pale yellow, with a thin white head. Smells like bitter herbs, spices, yeast. The taste follows the same note, with bitter herbal hops, spicy yeast and a (too) sweet malty backbone.

Pours a hazy yellow-orange and has a very yeasty aroma. It has a sweet, spicy flavor that’s very characteristic of the style. There’s a touch of mild hops bitterness. Dry finish. Very good example of a tripel.

Hazy, orange colored, medium creamy white head, good lasting. Aroma is brewing sugar, spices - coriander, ripe fruits, orange citrusy and yeast. Taste is medium+ sweet caramel and candy sugar, spices - cloves, orange, fruits, Belgian yeast and slightly bready, low+ spicy bitterness, alcohol well hidden. Medium+ bodied, soft to average carbonation.

hazy yellow colour, medium sized off-white head; aroma of grains, fruitiness, some floral notes, hints of coriander and earth; taste of malty-caramel sweetness, overripe fruity notes, some sourness and coriander again; like a mixture of a tripel and a witbier; great!

Ambar anaranjada, turbia, Espuma escasa. Aroma frutal. En boca es muy agradable. Delicadamente frutal, con notas de naranja. Y rica base malteada, acaramelada. Final seco y especiado. Buena triple

0.33 l bottle at De Balie, Amsterdam. Hazy, golden yellow with a creamy, white head. Fruity-yeasty aroma of grains, vanilla and honey. Sweetish, fruity-spicy taste of citrus, vanilla, honey and clove. Short, slightly sourish, light bitter and yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice.
