This was the first beer to come out of our vats, back in 1985, making it the Brouwerij ‘t IJ classic beer. It is a ‘tripel’, the category reserved for the stronger blonde beers crafted in the Belgian tradition, and Zatte more than lives up to expectations. It’s a full-bodied, golden beer with a scent of fresh fruit mingled here and there with a hint of grain. The flavour is slightly sweet, ending with a fine, dry aftertaste. A delicious classic to be enjoyed in all seasons.

Heller, trocken hefiger Antrunk, sehr passend zum Alkoholgehalt. Keine Süße, moderat herb, spritzig. Steigend würzig, belgisch hefig auf angenehmem Level, nicht übertrieben. Hell, leicht fruchtig, vollmundig. Gut! 8/9/10/9/8/9

0.33l bottle. Slightly hazy golden body, white head. Aroma of bread, almond, earthy hops, honey and lemon zest. Taste of bread, honey, orange zest, almond and floral hops. Sweeter than the average tripel. I like it.

Clear golden, small white head. Fruity, malty aroma with light notes if spice and yeast. Yeasty flavour, some malt and hints of citrus. Bittersweet, slightly chewy. Ok.

Bottle from Secret Santa or Local Swap. I do not remember, sorry! But thanks to you anyway. Almost clear yellow colour, short lasting white head. Aroma slightly cheesy, applish spicy trippely. Light honeyish. Taste is well balanced and surprisingly drinkable. Mostly spicy flavours, but not overwhelming. Clove, coriander. Green apple. Very good.
