A hop lover’s delight! In the India pale ale tradition, this brew is very hoppy in both aroma and flavor from the generous amounts of Cascade hops used in brewing. Look for a medium to full body and golden straw color.

Clear golden with a tiny off white head. Aroma had maltypiney and hoppy notes. Flavour was quite hoppy with pine, grapefruits and malty notes. Finished bitter.

Overall Impression: I love a good IPA, but this is just a decent IPA...not enough hops or interesting for my tastes.

Bottle. Poured a clear amber with a white head. Aroma had hoppy notes as well as, some sweet notes. Flavor was quite plain, with a note that was off.

Pours clear copper with light tan head and spotty lacing. The aroma is full of mild caramel malts and sweet pale malts mixing with faint vague earthy to spicy hoppiness. I got almost zero hops in the nose for this IPA. Luckily the taste comes through with a pulse of modest tangelo, spice hops and earthy hoppiness before bolder notes of lightly roasted malts, mild caramel malts and general malty sweetness take over. Beyond midway is another tepid wave of hop bitterness. It ends with mild roasted malts and fading hop bitterness. Well, if I’m in the mood for an IPA I probably wouldn’t go with this one.

Pour is a copper with a small white head. Aroma is mostly bitter citrus with almost nothing in the way of hops. Flavor is some light caramel malts with a bit of citrus in there. Where are the hops? Not even close to what the style should be. A total crapfest!

12 oz. bottle. Reddish amber pour with a 2-finger head. Good retention and lacing. Leafy, vegetal hop aroma. Bitter citrus hop taste turns more leafy in the finish. Some caramel malt is there. Watery in spots.

12oz bottle. Clean, filtered golden color. Done in the English style as opposed to the West Coast version. Crisp and refreshing, with a solid hop aroma and taste presence. Nothing that’s gonna knock your socks off, but a pretty quality IPA from old Saranac.

Well, this was pretty much a standard and mediocre IPA. Completely uninteresting, but easy to drink. It isn’t like they did anything wrong with this beer, but they didn’t try really hard at all. Enough hops, not enough alcohol, not enough complexity. Looks pretty standard. Can’t complain about the head. Feels ok to drink.

Clear golden brown colour. Aroma is of fresh hops. Light fruity flavours mix well with the fresh hops. A dry, bitter finish completes the beer well.
