Bomber @ The Rover. Pours very dark wooden brown, almost black, with a frothy and creamy brownish beige head that leaves some lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is slightly sweet, tiny sour, malty and herbal with roasted malts, wood, alcohol, lemon balm, salty liquorice candy, dark bread, pine, orange zest, grapefruit juice, vanilla fudge and subtle hints of canned mushrooms. Taste is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, burnt wood, grapefruit juice, salty liquorice hard candy, wet soil, ash, apricots, peaches, mandarin oranges, pine, coffee, dark grapes, cocoa powder and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is slightly smooth, round, slightly oily bitter and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with caramel, roasted malts, liquorice fudge, pine, wood, grapefruit peal, fresh grass and hints of ash. Very nice...

Bomber from bittermestupid. Thanks Greg! Pours really dark with a creamy bubbly tan head. Aroma of chocolate and resin. Full bodied. It starts a bit sweet, and some chocolate is present. Then there’s some fairly smooth burnt malt and a hint of coffee. Not to mention there seems to be a lot of resin hop. It’s certainly drier than not, but the chocolate confuses the issue. So does the burnt malt. This is pretty complex, and I think it’s very bitter. Very good ale.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours a cloudy opaque dark brown with a dense and creamy beige head leaving quite some lacework. Sweetish roast with an edge of citrusy hops. Rich body, sweet roast, a little chocolate and a discreetly bitter finish. Delicious - more malty than hoppy I’d say. 130712

22oz bomber from Herchick poured into a tulip. Thanks Bob! Pours black with a thin ring of dark tan head. Almost looks like a porter. Aroma is malt oriented - Mainly chocolate and coffee but with a good dose of spicy hops. Taste is light bitter. Starts off with citrus and pine hop bitterness but ends with a wallop of dark roasty chocolate. Full bodied with a thick and creamy texture. Soft carbonation and a long finish. Overall, awesome. I think I could drink this everyday!

Bottle @ Dan’s house, courtesy of a generous trader. Grazie! Dark brown/black appearance with a light brown head. Piney, sprucey, minty, roasty dark chocolate malty aroma. Fairly bitter, dull piney hoppy, slightly herbal, dull chocolate flavor. The aroma is excellent but the flavor leaves something to be desired.

Bomber thanks to Bigmmartin. Pours a pure black color with a small white head (initially a large head). A sweet nose of fruity hops, some roast and caramel. A rich spicy and bitter flavor balanced by chocolate malts and light roast, very smooth and much like the Dubhe from Uinta. Light oranges. Very nice. Lingering bitterness.

Bomber. Impatient guy that I am, I opened this when it was still not completely chilled. We’ll call it cellar temperature. Pour is dark brown and releases a huge tan head on the first pour, but the rest of it chilled further and the second glass was less rambunctious. Aromas are a punch to the nose of resin and grapefruit that later thin out a bit and become more lemony. Flavor was a surprise. I wasn’t expecting that heavy of a chocolate presence, but it is in full force and balances nicely against the spruce forest hoppiness. ABV is high enough to give a slight warmth down the throat and finish is nice and resiny. Great stuff again, Fred!

This brew pours dark brownish-black with a medium tan head that dissipates steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, pine and roasted malt. Medium body with a roasty character and notes of resiny hops, pine and sweet malt. The finish is hoppy with a toasty malt aftertaste. Solid Black IPA all around.
