Gravity cask at GBBF, Day 1. Pours black with a flimsy, tan head. Plenty of dark malts on the nose, slight chili. Roasty malt flavor, sweet, tons of hot and spicy chilies, burning, mocha. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Burning finish, mostly from the peppers but some light alcohol warmth, not too boozy, mostly chili and cocoa beans. Really tasty. I had to take my time with this one. (August 2011, score: 4.2)
Draft at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014, Session 1. Pours black with a foamy, tan head. Heavy peat in the nose, some earth and cocoa. Medium sweet flavour, with heavy and all-encompassing red chilli pepper heat, some baking cocoa, more peat. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Hot and spicy (yep!) on the finish, with some further chocolatey dark malts, more red pepper. No need for this much heat. Unfortunate, as it would be great stuff if just a little less intense (May 2014, score: 3.3)

Oak cask at GBBf. Nearly black in color. This one really lives up to its name. You have to enjoy hot stuff to enjoy this one. Nice.

Black with a lasting tan head. Aroma of licorice with green pepper/vegetables. Licorice and pepper flavour, with burning hot spice killing tastebuds. It’s a love it AND hate it beer...

Draught, KØ11. Mild coffee aroma. Distinct chili flavour to start off... And to finish. The chili flavour/burn is good, but a bit strong. 5 3 5 3 11
Borefts 2011. Mild roasted aroma. Black colour. Almost no head. Very hot chili flavour - too hot for me, but the taste is good. There seems to be a sweetish, roasted beer in there as well, but it is hard to taste because of the chili. Long, hot chili aftertaste. Rather undrinkable. 6 3 5 3 10

On tap as my last drink on the second day of the Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. De Molens festival beer has got a body that is dark as pitch with a few patches on the surface. Smell of dark malts and strong spices. The chili peppers are more prominent in the taste character with the dark malty part noticeable in the background. Lingering aftertaste with malts and hops coming through in the ending. Hot and spicy, indeed (27.05.2011).

Draught@CPH BF 2011. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is chili, some fruits, roasted malts and mild chocolate as well. Flavour is pretty similar. Not that complex in a way, but yet very nicely balanced. The chili leaves a slight burning note for quite a while, but is still not ruining the palate.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2011. Nearly black, small head. Peppery chocolate aroma. Mid sweet with dense mouthfeel. While the trademark de Molen imperial stout base beer is a nice one, the blend with chilis is a lopsided one. The chilis takes over and dances on the stout, leaves a burning sensation that kills everything else.
