At Borefts 2015. Aroma of whiskey, cherry, mild smoke and subtle chili. Taste has lots of cherry whiskey booze at first, but then the chili takes hold, which nicely combines with the softer previous tones. Good balanced beer.
Earlier Rating: 12/1/2013 Total Score: 4.2
Unlike the naga joloki, this one is balanced. First tones of coffee and roasted malt, after that some sharp pepper, but not too dominant. The barrel aging makes the beer more smooth and gentle, has some distant vanilla as well. Very good.

25/IX/15 - on tap @ Borefts 2015 (Bodegraven) - BB: n/a (2015-1298) Thanks to 77ships and the Israeli beer tickers scene for sharing today's beers!
Clear dark brown beer, no head. Aroma: sweet, maple syrup, very heavy, roasted, caramel, sugary, bourbon, vanilla. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots and lots of chillies, bit roasted, sweet touch. Aftertaste: nothing but burning chillies. Nope, that's just fucking up what once was a nice beer...

Bottle from Pibar, Lausanne; bottled Sept 16th 2013; 11% ABV
Black color with compact brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, a bit dusty; not chocolaty as expected usually from De Molen. Good body strength; it has the usual excellent chocolate flavor, less sweet than other Imperial Stouts, with strong but correct bitterness, and a chili kick that it’s just right for my palate. But don’t drink another beer after this one.
Chili beer is not a favorite style, but this one is very well brewed.

Cask sample @ Terminal 1, Codogno.

330ml bottle. Pitch black colour with late awakening, huge, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Dark malty aroma has notes of dark chocolate, coffee, leather, shoe polish. Taste is initially dry, roasty dark malty, then with spicy, peppery, sourish chilli notes, in the long lasting finish again with chocolate and leather notes, some treacle and vanilla; sticky palate. Not as rich and multifaceted as De Molen’s best Impy Stouts, but still an intense, flawless and well balanced high quality example. Smoke?
