Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - dark chocolate and booze. Light glue. Taste - chocolate and light nuts. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long elegant finish. Overall - funny nose but got better.

Bottle at De Paas. Thick motor oil black pour a small tan head. Aroma of licorice, dark chocolate, roast, light coffee and caramel with a slight veggie note behind. Flavour is light heavy sweet and bitter. Full bodied with a thick chewy mouthfeel and soft carbonation.

Bottle [from trade with bierkoning] @ home. Opaque dark brown to black color, full sized brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, light roast, dark malts, light hint of coffee. Taste malts, dark malts, a hint of hops, nice dark malt and slight hop bitter flavor, while overall it’s not so bitter at all. Some liquorice sweetness prevents bitterness from becoming to dominant, which makes this a pretty balanced imperial stout even at 11% ABV. Medium to full body, soft to average carbonation. Very solid, though a bit onedimensional perhaps. Would love to see what thus would taste like on a good bourbon or cognac barrel.
