Bottle from Liz. Pours black with a 3.5 finger creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate and resin. Med body. Flavor is roasty dark malt with some light pine. There might be some zest in here. There is certainly a lot of intense flavor. So it’s complex of course!

Bottle 65 cl. Pours an opaque black with a dense and frothy shaving foam style beige head. Cocoa dominates the nose. Medium body, plenty of bitter chocolate, subdued roast, while the hops don’t appear all that distainct - other than bitter. Appears mostly like a bitter Porter. 311211

Bottled. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of hops, grass, and citrus fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, dusty hops, and fruits, leading to a very roasted finish.

Bottle shared with Steve and co. Forgot who brought this, but thanks! Black appearance with a light brown head. Fairly roasty, chocolate malty, moderately citrusy/piney hoppy aroma. Pretty easy drinking flavor with notes of char, chocolate, light smoke, piney, and citrus.

5oz pour at Pizzeria Paradiso in Alexandria VA. Poured a dark brown, almost black color with a very small wispy deep tan head. Aroma is roasted notes through and through. Solid dark chocolate grains, with hint of hoppy notes. Flavor is a pretty decent balance between the roasted malts and the hops. Pretty solid, prototypical, "how a Black IPA should be made" brew.
