Lube? Hey, get your mind out of the gutter. Social lubrication, people coming together to unwind, is what we are talking about. This American Black Ale has a dark body, medium bitterness, balanced with West Coast hops and sweet orange peel.

Pour is an almost black with a large tan head. Aroma is a nice roasted malt with an equally nice citrus hop. Flavor is also quite nice with a big charchol burnt malt with a secondary hop. Leaves a nice roasted malt on the tounge. I did not get any orange peel but it probably got lost in all the other flavors. Another nice flavorful ale from this brewer.

Bomber. Pours a dark copper color with a large beige head. A sweet roasty and fruity hop nose. A mellow but rich chocolate, dry, rich pine, orange peel, lightly bitter. Nice. Easygoing.

Bottle. Pours with a deep brown hued body with a lasting off-white head. Aromas are of orange, citrus, pine, faded, tea, caramel, bready, mild roast. Iced tea and marmalade (i.e. faded hops with a lot of crystal malt). Flavors are thin, bland, and watery with mild diacetyl. Some light citrus, bready, mild bitterness. Lighter carbonation. Not a big fan of this one.

Bottle shared with Yanick. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of mint chocolate chip, burnt black malt, pine wood and pine cones. Harshly dry pine cones cut at the back of the palate. Burnt dry chocolate malt follows. Medium body. The only offering from them I didn’t like too much so far.

Bomber. Pours a very dark brown with a medium creamy beige head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is a smokey malt and chocolate. Thick mouthfeel with a bitter hop and spicy dry finish. A good black IPA from Clown Shoes.

Bottle @ Too many Geuze’s - only one toilet , Ulfborg 2012. Pours dark brown with a small creamy head and lacings. Citrus, grapefuit, caramel, vague roast and an ashy touch. Dry and bitter roasted and hoppy end. The hops are kept in the back and not as shiny as I wish them to be in a "black Ipa". Medium bodied. Good.
