Mint Choc Stout. Brewed with a certain after dinner mint in mind. 8:01 is our special mint chocolate stout, smooth yet vibrant, the mint is natural and leafy giving it a lovely cooling finish. Brewed with cacao nibs and cocoa for that extra chocolate decadence and lactose sugar for a velvet chocolate mouthfeel.

Bottle shared by Beersiveknown @ tasting at his place. Huge thanks Steve! Brown to black color, average body and carbonation. Don’t get a lot of minty flavors in there fortunately. Ok body and carbonation. Ok beer.

Can from O’Brien’s, Athlone [261116]
Pitch black, frothy tan head, light lacing
Aroma of soft mint, hint of cocoa, slightly medicinal
Taste of soft mint, dark malts, some dark chocolate, good the mint is not overpowering, unusual
Palate - soft carb, medium body, good texture, light sweet malts, smooth. Finish of leafy mint, dark malts.
Overall - Unusual stout, the mint is more natural and leafy compared to the peppermint in After Eights. It works well enough - maybe a strength of 8-9% with more dark malts would get the beer even closer to the flavour?
