Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. The aroma holds moderate roast, notches of chocolate, burnt toast, scorched earth. Medium sweet flavour with a luscious, creamy chocolate character, some bittersweet baking cocoa, a little gooey milk chocolate, earthy bitterness, some torched grass, dark fruits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Nicely balanced in the finish, with more nicely layered chocolate, hints of licorice, brownies, raisins, bitter earth and ash. Loads of depth to this one, and at the same time it’s massively drinkable. Excellent work here.
