Tap @ Oproer, small sample. Slight hazy yellow to golden color, short frothy head. Aroma is very fruity, apricot, citrus, peach, bit tart funk. Smooth sourness in taste, very fruity again. Great balance, lovely beer.

750ml shared at a tasting. Creamy, really nice Saison. Unfiltered yellow-tan body. Frothy, patchy head. Mellow body, but heavily innoculated. Very enjoyable.

Bottle split at the 5/7.5/10K tasting, from an IP trade with MJ, 30/12/14. Hazed orange with a moderate white swirl and spotting. Nose is light spice, floral notes, apricot, tangerine, hint of pine wood, rustic and earthy. Taste comprises peach, straw, grapefruit, spice, hay, mandarin, tangerine, lots of soft fleshy tropics just starting to decay. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid subtle sour.

5 Kay, 7.5 Kay, 10 Kay Tasting. Thanks to Colin, opened whilst he was still getting over Melcher Street! Very hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and crisp and semi dry. Good fine carbonation. Very good fruits here - light sweet citrus orange with peach, nectarines. Light tangy white wine vibe. Light finish. Good stuff!

Bottle care of 10K Bois. It pours cloudy golden-orange with a small white head. The nose is fresh, soft, orange, lemon rind, candied citrus peel, straw and dough. The taste is crisp, orange sherbet, yuzu, lemon, light acidity, touch of peppery spice, tart edge and wood with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Crisp, tart and juicy. Yum pretty much sums it up.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Colin. Pours cloudy gold with a frothy white head. The nose has tart citrus fruits, herbs and grass, some dry pale wood. Light-medium sweet flavor with relaxed lemony tartness, citrus, some woody dryness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Cleansing finish, lightly acidic, more lemon, tangerine, rind. Lovely stuff.

Poured from a 750 ml Sole Comp bottle and compared to a pour from a Saison du Blodget bottle. Sole composition bottle’s aroma has a nice fruitiness but not necessarily apricot. Some light peppery phenolics with nice oak character. Oak and stone fruit skin tannins. Newer bottle has a bit of a buttery white wine character that the older bottle lacked and a bit more wine tannins and less fruit. Both bottles pour a slightly cloudy golden orange with a small, thick white head that lingers on the edges. Light lacing and faint legs the older Sole Composition bottle poured clearer. Flavor of the older bottle is a bit sweet with some stale grain notes and moderate bitterness. Less fruit, but still a nice fruitiness. Lighter phenolics with moderate oak tannins and light oak character. Newer bottle is a bit buttery and more bitter with a stronger oak character and less fruit. Mouthfeel is light bodied and crisp with medium carbonation. Low, but present tannic astringency that is stronger in the new bottle and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer but the flavor was a bit of a letdown in comparison to the aroma. Also, the older Sole Composition Fantasia Five bottle is better than the new Saison du Blodget bottle. Older bottle had a better fruit character even though it was old and the new bottle had way too much wine and oak tannins.

Had this at the 2014 RB Pittsburgh Summer Gathering at Horny Devel’s place. Actually it was after the equinox at the beginning of fall, but DILLIGAF. Big thanks to James & Michelle for hosting such a nice spread of quality beers and for this particular beer a GIANT thanks goes out to beerman6686. Slight tart nose impressions. Yellowish beer with a slight haze. Slight fine carbonation. Earthy at first with some friendly beer attributes. Then there is a slight bitterness that grows into a pointed sharpness for a finsih.

750 ml bottle. Pours amber with light head. Aromas of sharp, sour Brett, peaches, citrus, and wheat. Flavors of oak, green grapes, phenol and a little resin. Moderate carbonation. Enjoyable though more like a weak lambic than a typical Saison.
