Pannepøt (read Pannepeut) is a beer specially brewed and named as a wink to the Danish market presented at the Danish beer festival ’Københavnske Øldage 2006’ exclusively at Ølbutikkens stand. It is produced to express the brewers gratitude to all the Danish beer amateurs that drink their products daily. Pannepøt has later been available on draught and bottles at bars and shops in Belgium & Denmark. Since winter 2006, this beer’s popularity kept growing in Belgium at such a level that the production today equals Pannepot.

On tap @ In De Wildeman - I’m not sure why this has an entry separate from the "regular" Pannepeut. Plus: it was under pressure, so what’s the "real ale" deal? Dark brown color, quite clear. No head. Aroma’s: lots of fruit - sour & sweet, berries - sticky toffeecake, with additionally a little roast and slight bitterness retronasal. Flavor is sweet with a moderate bitter backbone. Medium bodied. Long finish, a bit roasted and lightly bitter. Nice enough.

Bottle shared with Lyoli in Gabrovo, Bulgaria - picked up in Belgium some time ago. Vintage 2010. Pours lightly hazy, deep brown with a creamy, tan head. Lots going on in the aroma, plenty of aged toffee, ripening dark fruits, raisins, berries. Medium to big sweet flavor with notes of molasses, dark cherries, plums, lightly leathery berries, dark bread, fruitcake, moderate alcohol. Medium to full bodied with lively, caressing carbonation. Finishes with light alcohol warmth, then more sugary bread, candied fruits, black currants, touches of cocoa and toffee. Lovely stuff. Great depth.

Corpo pieno, carbonazione medio-bassa. Ottima davvero!

Hazy reddish brown with minimal white head. Brown sugar, lots of tart red fruits, light funk, vanilla, some toast, chocolate and green apple. Starts sweet with than sourness going into a long tart finish. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Very complex and interesting stuff, but no Pannepot.

330ml bottle, 2013, from Vanuxeem. Extremely rich liquorice nose, with a smooth blend of spicy fruits, dark caramel and soft liquorice. Not usually into this kind of beer but this is ok.

Sampler bouteille @ RBBWG III, thanks Danko.

25 cl. hand bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2014. Courtesy of & thx! to Danko. Bottled shortly prior to consumption. Copper orange with no head. Nose is sweet & rich with caramel, toffee, brown sugar, cinnamon, sawdust, walnut, faint iron. Taste is sweet caramel, toffee, sweet spices, herbs, brown sugar, walnut, thick malty, touch leaves. Little in the way of carb. easy to drink. Whilst I felt that Black Albert & Cuvée Delphine didn’t benefit from the treatment, this one did. Not the biggest one of the regular which is okay but I so much rather think regular Pannepot, this one beats the regular version in my opinion. Pretty solid, could prob. do a pint of this one.
