Bottle split at Mother Arch during RBESG ’14, day 2, thanks to Leighton (via Rene) 08/08/14. Clear golden with moderate off white spotting. Nose is raw malt, unrefined, light citric, earthy, woody. Taste is vegetal, bread dough, malt, light spice, faint citric vibes. Medium body, light spritzt carbonation, semi drying close. How not to do IPA’s !

Bottle shared at RBESG, 2014. Gold pour with a white head. Aromas of treacle toffee, sweet spice and coconut. Flavours of caramel, spice, coconut toffee and some citrus. Sweet finish. An odd one.

Bottle shared during RBESG. Pours clear, yellow-gold with a big, frothy white head. The nose has pale bread, light pine needles and lemon rind. Medium sweet flavor, some sugary pale malts, light toffee, ripe lemon, grass, pine needles. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Simple sugary, pale bready finish, light alcohol, pale bread, cornbread. Nothing special.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear straw colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a malt, resin hop palate and long hop bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A more traditional pale ale and not something you would expect to see in the Netherlands.

Bottled, thanks Benzai! Almost clear deep golden, rich head. Grassy doughy nose with som citrus. Very sweet with medium-full body and soft mouthfeel. Butter and dough, piney and medicinal with saccharine, hay and citrus. Resiny bitter finish. A bit unpolished.

Bottled from Biernavigatie, BB March 2015, large sample, poured into a shaker. Initially clear golden color, short frothy off-white head, leaving some frothy lacing. Aroma of some citrussy hop, bit caramel and biscuity malt, slight spicy yeast esters. Medium bitter in taste, bit caramelly sweetness. Seriously lacks aroma, probably due to lack of dryhopping. A bit dry and astringent in the finish. Seems a bit typical of most beers brewed at Sallands: not enough hop aroma and lautered too much, which gives some nasty tannins in the finish, plus a bit too high on the fermentation temperature, leaving the beer not as clean as it could be. At least, if you want an IPA american style. This is more typical for an IPA Dutch style. Meh.
