In Texels Donkerd I.P.A. wordt hop vers verwerkt tijdens het brouwproces. Dit geeft een fruitige geur en een smaak die doet denken aan grapefruit, ananas en mango. Gebrande mout zorgt voor de donkere kleur en smaaktonen van koffie en karamel. De moutbitterheid is een mooie aanvulling op de voor een I.P.A. kenmerkende hopbitterheid.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks rayaron. 6%. Murky brown with a big beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, stale hops, dark fruits, yeast. Sweet flavor with malt, caramel, dark fruits, yeast, a bit of bitterish stale hops, and a salty hint. Medium-bodied. Not really a Black IPA.

Bottle at Tuesday Share, Taphouse, Copenhagen - Brown pour with mahoosive beige head. Aroma and taste is toasty malty, not very roasty as would expect, some caramel, some vague hoppy notes, pretty sweet overal, not getting this.

Borefts VII. Day 2. Train bottle rate with Craig and James. Hazy amber beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, mild fine carbonation. Mildly bitterish caramel malts. Traces of bitter floralness and orange peel. Dry finish. Bitter linger. Meh!

300 ml. bottle sampled @ Café Kandinsky. Thanks for sharing. Dark brown, creamy tanned head. Nose is syrupy caramel, mocha, some chocolate,… Taste is fizzy, very high carbonation, caramel, dark fruits, lightly vinous, bread, light hops,… Not much hops but rather decent as a beer all the same.
