In Texels Donkerd I.P.A. wordt hop vers verwerkt tijdens het brouwproces. Dit geeft een fruitige geur en een smaak die doet denken aan grapefruit, ananas en mango. Gebrande mout zorgt voor de donkere kleur en smaaktonen van koffie en karamel. De moutbitterheid is een mooie aanvulling op de voor een I.P.A. kenmerkende hopbitterheid.

Dark brown black colour, white head. Aroma of caramel, light hops and cacao. Bitter hoppy flavour, caramel, cacao, fruity hops. Finish cacao, hops and caramel. Quite nice.

Little cloudy reddish brown beer, creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit sweet, caramel, fruity, some banana. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, citrus, hoppy, pretty bitter. Aftertaste: hoppy, dry, mocha, little sourish, bit soapy, fruity, banana, bitter, bit sweet, caramel.

Bottle @ DØE meeting. Pours dark brown with a creamy offwhite head. Aroma of light roasted malt, light licorice, grassy hops, fruit, sweet citrus, mandarin. Flavor is roasted malt, licorice, little coffee, fruit, grass, citrus. Medium body, average to lively carbonation, dry and light bitter finish. 200515

Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB 30 01 2016, large sample. Dark brown color, big frothy light brown head. Aroma of fruity hop, citrussy, bit pine, slight roast, hint of caramel, bit earthy. Medium bitter in taste, slight caramel and cookie. Touch of roast. Very well balanced. A bit thin perhaps and could use a bit more aroma hop, but a very decent attempt by a brewery that usually makes the usual suspects. Good job.

30cl Bottle from Vonk Zaandam. Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma of some pine and grapefruit, roasted malts, hint of coffee, some caramel. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, roasted malts, some grapefruit and pine, light ashy, bitter finish. Light bodied, over-carbonated. Mellow BIPA, did not expect a beer like this from this brewery.

Bottle @ home. Clear red-brown color with a dark red glare coming through when held into the light, medium sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, roasted malts, hops, lightly earthy, moderately bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Quite well done I’d say.

30 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Hazy dark brown with an off-white head. Malty and fruity nose. Nice malty sweetness with some hopbitterness. Very nice new Dutch beer.

Bottle. Brown muddy pour, creamy head. Aroma of grassy hop, rye and herbs. Fresh taste of bitter fruity hop, rye, dark malt and a little caremel. Tasty and very drinkable.

Opaque dark brown colour, large fluffy beige head, good retention, thick lacing. Aroma pine, grapefruit, caramel, grass. Taste medium bitter, light sweet, roasted. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, aftertaste dry bitter, citrus, chocolate notes, nice black IPA.
