330ml bottle. Jet black colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, ochre head. Roasty, dark malty aroma, hints of treacle, pumpernickel, carrot. Taste is moderately sweet, dark malty, roasty, hints of treacle, dark bread; an alcoholic touch in the finish.

Many thanks to Beerhunter111 for this bottle! Gushing bottle. Very dark with a deep-beige head. Intense roasty nose. The beer is deep, fresh, smooth. Deep and malty. Slightly roasty, yeast, smooth, malt. Not much bitterness, nice and round, probably a bit too sweetish due to the ABV.

33 cl bottle @ hotel room, Amsterdam
Aroma has sweet cocoa notes, some hay and coffee. Also some nuts and ashy tones. Foamy palate. Flavour has deep licorice root tones, some coffee, tobacco and cocoa. Starts to feel a bit too sweet at the end of the glass – also some elements typical to British beers do occur. Reminds me of Hiisi Kiira, this is just more intensive.

33cl Bottle: BBD Aug 2017. Poured into a Westmalle chalice on 16th May 2014. The off-white head faded very swiftly on the murky deep ruby red body (I allowed the sediment to leave the bottle), almost black body actually. The nose is semi-sweet malty molasses and red wine notes. The taste is similar, this leans towards a barley wine in both flavours and aroma . A different type and take on a Stout, that I’m used too anyway. The body depth let it down a little, seemed a tad thin for 7% ABV, but this did not detract from the overall feeling I got from the brew. Enjoyable and interesting.

Thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that bottle. Looks really good. Beer in the glass deep black, nice head. Starts strong-malty, some earthy notes, fine roasty. Hints of bitter chocolate and black coffee. Finish a bit milder, but still intense malty. Nice!

0,33 l bottle bought directly at the brewery. Pours nearly black in the glass, big tanned head. Dark choco, toffee and berriefruits on the nose. Starts with medium dark choco and dark berriefruits in the background. Smooth, enjoyable and easy to drink, light citrus sweetness. Good one!
