Notes from early 90s (probably from before the Heineken era). Bottle. Clear, deep ruby red/brown color. Aroma’s: roasted malts, caramel sweet. Flavor: moderate sweet, caramel, roasted malts, moderate bitterness. Medium bodied. Long finish with strong, lasting bitter flavor. Very good (back then).

30cl bottle, best before MRT 16. The beer starts malty-sweetish, hints of mould, hints of alcohol. Sweetish-flat, dry molasses, somehow herbal, burned sugar, dry caramel. Nearly no sweetness there, bitter-herbal aftertaste, very dry but still refreshing. On the tongue remains a medicine-like herbal bitterness with hints of burned sugar. Very interesting!

Piana solidna, kremowa, zapach owocowy trochę drożdżowy.
Smak piwa kawowy, alkohol nie jest wyczuwalny, piwo delikatnie goryczkowe, naprawdę pyszne.

Kolor ciemnego bursztynu , klarowny. Piana biała, niezbyt wysoka, średnio trwała. Delikatnie oblepia szklankę.
Intensywność aromatu jest niska. Jest tu lekka, palona słodowość, nuty chlebowe, kawowe, zbożowe.
Smak słodki z wyraźnym wytrawnym finiszem. Goryczka palona, karmelowa.
Alkohol delikatnie zaznacza swoją obecność. Wysycenie średnie. Ciało wydaje się być średnie w górę. Tekstura miękka, gładka. Posmak wytrawny, średnio długi.

Clear mahogany with small white head. Roasted malts and grains, lots brown sugar and a touch of ash. Some spices and a weird vegetal touch. Very sweet with slight bitter finish. Watery feel. Actually not too bad for a macro bock.

Bottle from Albert Heijn. Poured a clear dark amber with a frothy white head and a little lace. The aroma is sweet malt, caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a rich malt, light metallic hop bitter palate. Medium bodiied with soft carbonation.

Dutch classic with yellowish white, regular but not very stable head and a deep, warm mahogany colour with copper hue. Fairly complex aroma of caramel, chocolate, almond, rhum, liqueur, cookie dough, banana, port wine, candied cherries, honey... Smoothly caramel taste, sweet without becoming cloying, nutty malts, finishing lightly toasted (chocolate, toasted bread) and mildly alcoholic, liqueurish, warming. Good winter warmer and decent Doppelbock.
