BOTTLE 33 CL. Dark ruby with a slight haze, big beige head. Dark malts aroma with notes of bread and dough, hints of wine and nail polish. The taste has dark toasted bread, a touch of caramel and a spicy herbal hoppy finish. The body is light to medium with a massaging carbonation. Not bad.

Bottle at home. Dark brown with bubbly creme head. Roasted sweet malt, brown sugar, spices (coriander), lot of yeast, hint of candy banana. Taste is over medium sweet with a light bitter sensation from the spices and the yeast. Body is medium, candy-like sticky, with slightly above average carbonation. There is better and there is worse, but there’s little to rave about. --- Beer merged from original tick of De Halve Maan Brugse Zot Dubbel on 21 Nov 2017 at 12:27 - Score: 6

Bottle: Poured a clear light brown color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of candi sugar and light caramel notes is tamer than I was expecting. Taste is also a standard mix of candi sugar and light caramel malt notes. Body is lighter than expected with some good carbonation. Sub-standard example of the style.

33 cl bottle, shared. Hazy, cola-brown with a big, bubbly lightly tanned head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, fruits, yeasts and faint liquorice. Taste is light sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes slightly dry with yeasts and caramel malts. Pleasant Dubbel.
