660 ml bottle. Dark brown, close to black body with a big creamy beige head. Nice aroma of dark malt, piney hops and coffee. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, light roasted, pine, coffee and pleasant bitterness. Fine and balanced body with a long and tasty aftertaste with coffee. Amazingly tasty and well balanced at quite low alcohol percentage. Well made.

Bottle. It pours a reddish dark brown body, next to black. A dense, dark beige head sits on top. The aroma is nicely hopped, with coffee and roasted malts, really pleasant. Really good coffee flavor, roasted malts a nice bitterness and pine cones. Full body, soft and pleasant carbonation. Lasting roasted and bitter finish. A really pleasant and tasteful one, high quality. Would like more of this. 131018

0.66l bottle. It looks really nice this. Deep black in the glass, not possible to see through - even against the light and it has a good looking medium sized heavy lacing brown top. Dry roasted on the nose with a good candy sweetness, caramel, cocoa powder, chocolate paper and some herbal floral tones that I'm really enjoying. Lots of small things going on in the aroma and together they make quite a elegant odor. It's as expected a bit watery on the mouthfeel and the carbonation level is below average and kinda sticking/prickling on the palate. A really good dry roastiness - almost a little burned bitter with tons of licorice. Quite lovely. It also has that undefined sweetness that I choose to call candy sweetness. It ends with loads of dark cold coffee. This was quite a flavorful little one. Would not mind trying again. 05.08.2013

Keg at the Bat. Bit paler that expected for a stout, a near-opaque brown, with a beige head. Aromas of coffee and quite a chunk of hops. Good mouthfeel, if a little thin. Finish could do with a touch more bitterness.

Cask handpull at The Ale House, Chelmsford. Black with a nice, off-white head. A great looking pint. Aroma of dark chocolate, and roasted malts but little if any evidence of coffee. Slightly sweet, and dry, roasted chocolate finish. Very good and disappoited it had gone when I returned next day.
