Festive Spruce Ale.We have brewed this special festive ale using malted barley, a variety of high impact specialist hops and hand picked spruce tips which are only ripe for picking during a two week window in the spring. The resiny sweetness of the spruce and malt is countered by a huge hop character, which is just delicious.

Bottled 1 ltr (vPBF, BBE 2015)
Pale amber color, steady small white head. Herbal, perfumic and glueish hoppyness in the aroma. Medium-bodied. Odd berryness in the flavor, piney hoppyness, fruity glue. Weird beer.

ChrisOs Christmas Tasting. Hazy amber beer, nig pale tan head. Toffee and pine nose. Palate is semi dry and a slightly resinous. Taste is tangy pine with a fruity edge. Nice toffee malt backbone. Finishes smooth, semi dry and with some hop bitterness and lingering resinous pine. Unusual and interesting beer. Tasty and very moorish.

Bottle. Hazy golden color. Aroma of subtle Christmas tree and snow. Taste is very nicely balanced spruce resin, not overwhelming. Very tasty.

Bottle 100cl. w. swing top @ chriso [ chrisos festive get-together tasting ].Unclear matt medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus, pine, spruce. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, pine - spruce, sugary spruce - pine, spicy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. IMO a very balance, enjoyable and tasty ! [20111230]

1 litre bottle, of course! Pours a honey/amber with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has of mandarins, biscuits and green leaves. The taste has biscuits, sweet spices and wow, a big strawberry sauce note that runs to the end (like you get on whipped ice cream!). The palate is well balanced with richness at the start but a gradual long elegant finish. They should brew this regulary - it’s one of the best Scottish beers I’ve ever tasted!

Bottle at home ... hazy copper ... nice firm white foam head ... soft sweet toffee malt ... little earthy ... soft pine nose ... soapy sweet pine ... oh lots of spruce or what i imagine has to be the spruce ... light oilyness ... wonderfully different ... quite rich ... i really like its uniqueness ... but 1L on my own might be tricky... saying that its a beer i would want again bottle at home ... amber .. thin white ,.. soft zezty pine fruits ... huge spruce nose... juicy sweet frutis ... mellow ... and fruity soft resinous fruitness ... very very very nice ... i like the mouthfeel ... i love the spruce 4.1 tap at 9A ... copper ... thin white lacing ... soft honey fruit ... nose ... very sweet ... soft resinis too fizzy ... juicy mellow fruits ... hints of banana ... soft fruits ... just not as nice as the bottle 3.4

At Chriso New Year 2011/12 tasting. Hazy copper colour lasting beige head. Quite a hoppy aroma. Toffee and pine needles some decent hops on finish. Hoppy Williams beer but the pine is quite arresting. Its interesting but not sure i want to drink a lot of it.
