Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, candy sugar, thick liquorice, spicy, some herbal hoppy notes, yeast, clove, medicinal notes. Flavour is quite sweet and a bit sticky. Body is above medium. There’s a hint of Saison underneath the heavy liquorice candy sugar malty sweetness, but it’s merely a hint. Overall a bit too heavy on the sweet liquorice and candy sugar for my taste, but I guess it’s a fairly well-brewed beer. Not what I hoped for when I read "Black Saison".

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Roast, citrus and a hint of white pepper in the aroma. Roasty citric flavor with hints of caramel and moderate tart notes. White pepper. Delicious.

At Maakun’s. Bottle courtesy of Maakun. Black with off white head. Port, blackberries, alcoholic, old strawberry, yeasty, charcoal, roasted sour grain. Dry with light sour, bitter. Thin body, over medium carbonation. Too much alcohol. --- Beer merged from original tick of Pochpoater Doesterik Black Saison on 21 Nov 2017 at 20:56 - Score: 6. Original review text: 3

Bottle shared at home. Very dark brown with huge beige head. Lots of herbs, red wine, sweet coffee, black berries, dried red fruits, porto, Indian spices, yeast. Under medium sweet and bitter with light tart touch. Over medium bodied with lots of carbonation and light alcoholic finish. Unusual but not bad.

Many thanks to Beerhunter111 for sharing this bottle! Smooth and intense beginning. Roast, some dark malt, sourish Saison-hints. Full and round brew, a bit too concentrated but ok for the ABV. Intense sticky aftertaste, malt, dark fruits, round and sticky!

Bottled. A hazy brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, and roasted bread, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.
