A superbly balanced beer golden in appearance with peaty smoky aromas and smooth whisky flavours from peated malt. With a measure of English Whisky from St. George’s Distillery in Norfolk, it is rich in flavour and a superb after dinner drink.

Old rating, best before 20 June 12. Nice intense smoky nose. The beer starts with an extreme but great peated aroma, great intense smoked malts on a smooth but a bit sweetish body. Moderate bitterness, the smoke is great, the beer is moderate. Ok but very interesting stuff!

Present from Clay. Lots of Ardbeg on aroma. Some TCP too. Body could do with more carbonation. Descent fruity notes over Ardbeg. Interesting

Bottle from Seoul Plaza. Simple malty honeyish aroma, light ambiguous British hops. Then peat comes out. Clear golden to orange colour. Taste is mostly interesting by the peat, which is moderate intensity. Simple, but the peat needs more complex malt bill to accompany it IMO. Still good.

Bottle at home. Pours a clear amber colour with a medium, off-white head. Aroma of smoke, meat, wood and leather. Whisky in the background. Nice! More smoke in the flavour along with wood, leather and a harsh and dry bitter aftertaste. Has a slick mouth feel, and a medium bitterness. Has a wonderful rauchbier-like aroma but the taste is unbalanced and quite bitter.

Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsø Langnes. Mørk gyldenbrun. Høyt luftig skum med kniplingslacing. Skummet daler sakte. Litt tung whiskyaroma. Smaken er røkt torv - på grensen til fjøs. Lite annet. Ikke helt vellykket.
