A superbly balanced beer golden in appearance with peaty smoky aromas and smooth whisky flavours from peated malt. With a measure of English Whisky from St. George’s Distillery in Norfolk, it is rich in flavour and a superb after dinner drink.

03.04.2014, 0,5l bottle @ home:
Small bubbly shoerlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, peated malts, leather, caramel, sugar, hay, butterscotch. Taste is slightly dry, peated malts, hay, grass, leather, oak, caramel. Medium bitterness, watery mouthfeel. Pretty boring!

Hazy blond colour with lots of left over yeast in the bottom of the glass. Strong smokey, peaty aroma. A bit salty. There’s a flavour of dry, hoppy beer with salty, smokey, meaty taste. Some sweeter, softer malt flavours come through in the finish. Lots of flavour in beer of only 4.8%.

Lys gulbrun i fargen klar med lite hvitt skum. Røkt lukt/ whiskylukt. Lett bitter og røkt litt søt smak. Kort ettersmak, medium kullsyre.

Bottle 500 ml from Kuca piva, Zagreb. Very unusual beer, it had weird petroleum or gasoline aroma (also could be leather). I’m not sure if there was something wrong with the bottle.

Fles 50cl thuis. Ruikt en smaakt naar rookbier. Whisky smaak in de verte. (1-2014).

Nice honey colored body. Low lacing and some retention. Peat, wood smoked meat, smokiness and hints of whiskey sans the alcohol. Caramel malt with a mineral bitterness finishes it off. Medium bodied with a creamy feel and the latter part of the feel is a bit thin. Very interesting beer.

500ml bottle at Blå Rock Café. Bubbly, off-white head that stayed well on top of a deep, copper coloured body. Moderate smoked malty nose with herbal hops. Taste of whisky, peat smoke, wood, and caramel malts. Dry ending with hoppy hints. Just alright, maybe a bit unvaried (Tromsø 08.11.2013).

Lykt av mye røykt. Gyllen/gulfarge. Sterk smak av røykt med en anelse bitterhet. Greit nok.

Bottle from Utobeer Market Stall in Borough Market. Pours light copper with a slight white head that was quite transient. Definite smoke aroma. Med body. Flavor is mostly peat. Hints of caramel. Perhaps a little bitter, but it’s really peat in the finish.
