Shared this bottle with benzai @ CafΓ© Buitenlust. Just like him i was surprised by itβs extremely sour taste. After a few sips i got used to it and actually appreciated this one. Glad he didnβt like it that much, more for me.

Colour of elderberry juice, light pink head. Aroma of horse, apple, malt, wet dog. Quite sour in the nose. Flavour rather sour (but not as sour as the nose suggested), pronounced berry, apple, apple vinegar, slight musty cork. Finish rather sweet.
Hardly any cherry flavour or nose in this kriek. Still, quite refreshing.

Deep red color. Musty smell, also very sour. Taste is a little fruity but very very sour with a long sour aftertaste. Too sour for me.

Bottle at the source. Hazy yellow color, scant head, no lacing. Aroma of lemon peel. Taste starts sweet and turns softly sour. Not much character.

Bottle. Clear reddish with a medium pink head. Sour aroma of cherries, wood and some lingonberry. Not that sweet taste, but quite sour. Cherries, apples, wood. Dry with a light body. A lot of carbonation. A descent beer, not as artificial as the normal Kriek from Timmermans. Refreshing and very drinkable.

Pours red-tinged bronze. Fluffy pale pink head thatβs still nearly a cm with 3/4s gone. Aroma of sour cherries and yeast. Pretty sharp taste - sour and acid. A little metallic. Almond emerges after a few swigs. Not oversour but still works better with food than by itself.

Bottle 33 cl, 2008-03-12, reddish with chemical head, too much sourness for my taste. A recommend the ordinary Timmerman kriek!

33cl bottle. head-to-head tasting with timmmermans tradition kriek lambic. clear red, thick pink head. well balanced sour ale dominates, beneath that i sense fresh cherries. absolutely totally different from the other one. this one way more sour and acid than the other one, but not as sour as a gueze of course. super nice balance between the sour and the sweet cherries, but sour dominates. acid tinge reminds me of cider.
