Island, inland, canoe or swim. Busy days in city haze, crystal clear water in a tree-lined bay. Stand in the snow and watch snowflakes, row deep lakes to catch great snakes. Choose your adventure, drink good beer. Hop-forward mango and grapefruit deliver intense, tropical flavours.

Can from Waitrose. An aroma of piney hops on the nose and a true to form bitter English style IPA. It was uncompromising in the taste, but it was still very tasty.

Draught Good dense light-yellowish head leaving textbook lace over hazy yellow-ochre beer. Very citrussy nose, lots of ureum, lupuline in force, eggyolk. Dry, dry, straw-like citrus, orangepeel, kafir lime, dry coriander powder (in the best culinary way); cheese in the finish. Quite spritzy, oily-slick, medium bodied at least. Pretty excellent. 7/4/8/3/15

From a 330ml can on 30/5/208. Pours a cloudy light golden with a medium bright white head. Has a pleasant, quite floral fruity aroma. Tastes of caramel and biscuit malt, sweet tropical fruit, and a bit of marmalade and honey. The sweetness is met with a lovely, big, pronounced grapefruit bitterness at the back. Medium bodied with slightly prickly carbonation. Beautifully balanced and super tasty. Would never have expected the poms to make a west coast style IPA as good as this.

Can at Waitrose, West Byfleet. By this point couldn't really get away with sly rating so had to take quick notes. Fuzzy floral and pine aroma. Bright amber. Thick fluffy white head. Medium bitter. Citrus with a grainy core. Thin. Light. Fizzy carbonation. Low key finish. Decent but not up there with the contenders.

Tap. Shared with Riveiro and Esgueva on the 10/05/2018 at "Taphouse", Copenhagen. Pale golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, mango and floral hops. Taste is the same. Well balanced but not superfresh. Medium body and carbonation. Next one please!
