Hazy amber, foaming head and heavy lacing. Aroma is grapefruit hop, somewhat faded. Hops flavors lean toward piney and heavily bitter at the finish. Biscuit malt background is just there, though there’s a hint of caramel sweetness, tastes almost like crystal malt though I wouldn’t definitely say its in there. Foamy fluffy mouthfeel.

On tap @ BJ’s (!) Montebello. Clear, amber color. Dense, off white head with good lacing. Aroma’s: aromatic hops, a bit resin, with some malty sweetness for balance. Retronasal the hop is more earthy. Flavor: light to medium bitter with a light sweetness. Medium bodied. Finishes a bit grainy at first, then develops slowly into a lasting firm bitterness. Well crafted & flavorful.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of green hops with light sweet notes and light bitter notes. Taste is a solid mix between some green hops with a solid caramel malt backbone with medium amount of residual sugars. Green hops notes are really pleasant with some good notes of citrus flavours. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Really good wet hop ale and something I would love to have more regular access to.

2011 bottle at the Dash In - Pours lightly hazy orange with an off-white head that laces well. The aroma is of citrus hops and caramel malt. The flavor features good moderate to strong hops bitterness with notes of citrus and pine and an ample malt balance. Crisp bitterness lingers pleasantly. Very good.

On tap at Apex, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of fresh grassy hops, straw and biscuit malts. Flavour is very fresh, full of vibrant grassy hops, some floral notes and some light crackery malts. Very well-balanced and fresh with a nice bitterness. Very good.

Pours a dark golden brown, a bit hazy, with very thick, frothy head. Malty aroma, with a fairly nice hop bite. Flavor is hoppy, with a definite malt sweetness underneath. Rather bitter finish. Not the best IPA I’ve tried, but it’s certainly not bad, either.

Bottle. A clear, dark golden colored beer topped by an off-white head. Grassy, lightly citrusy nose with some maltyness in the back. The flavor has some bitterness and a touch of caramel, as well as the same grass and citrus found in the aroma. Full to medium bodied, nicely carbonated. Bitter finish. A nice and well tasting, easy drinkable beer, quenching as well. 110826

Bottle from Gary’s beverage, Portsmouth, NH. Wish I could haven’t gotten this at tonight’s tap takeover… anyway, Nose of grassy hops, light resin and some malt. The taste is hops to start then backed by a strong malt backbone with a nice, lingering bitter finish. Some spicy, peppery notes as well. Balanced nicely. Medium body with a clean finish. This should please any IPA drinker.
