Zeer speciaal bier dat vol met gecompliceerde smaak nuances zit een bier waar men voor moet gaan zitten en van genieten. Dit bier moet men gedronken hebben.

Slight malt and orange aroma. Dark amber beer with hardly any head and lacing. Very sweet, heavy, malty surupy and sugary. Cake dough and orange flavors, with alcohol clearly present. Still very young, but not too bad, I don't know if storage would do this beer any good.

Shared from bottle at deanso’s. Vintage 2008. Clear reddish amber wkth no head. Caramel, sweet raisans, barley, some gumball coating. Big sweet, light leathery bitter. Quite alcoholic. Medium body, slick thin watery oily feel. Really nice, aging probably helped with that. --- Beer merged from original tick of Koelschip Bierexplosie on 23 Dec 2017 at 13:30 - Score: 7. Bottle 2008 vintage thanks to deanso. Clear light brown with very short lasting bubbles, no real head. Lots of sweet malts, figs, raisins, caramel, brown sugar, light toffee. There’s some itter alcohol and bitter leaves in the finish. Over medium bodied with soft alcoholic burn. Judging by the ratings this really improved by some aging. It’s actually quite nice now.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a hazy dark amber with little life. The aroma is toffee caramel malt. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth rich fruity alcoholic mineral palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle at Casper is back tasting. Warm deep beer lasting beige head. Sweet as hell. Bit hot. It’s ok. Sweet extreme but fine.

Bottle shared in chriso’s. Pours clear amber with a bubbly, white head. Rich malt aroma with some well ripened fruits, dates, ripe orange. Hugely sweet flavor with lots of booze, berries, dates, figs, golden raisins, bread, fruitcake. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Hot finish with loads of ripe fruit, some wood, honey, syrup, liquefied fruits, plums, dates. Pretty damn hefty and sugary but not bad as a sipper.

Bottle thanks to ChrisO. It pours deep amber with a small bubbly head. The nose is fruit cake, toffee, varnish, permanent marker pen, phenols and spice. The taste is rich, sweet, oily, candy, dried fruits, syrupy, booze, wood, raisin and brown sugar with a sweet, hot finish. Medium-full body, low carbonation and oily mouth-feel. A bit rough and ready, lacking in depth.
