You always meet twice - a matter of luck in case of Olli and Scott. The first time they met they were both studying in Berlin. Years later they met again at Sierra Nevada in Chico/California. By now Oliver is back in his hometown Hamburg and Scott became the head brewer at the Sierra Nevada Brewery in Mills River, on the US-Eastcoast. But this time they did not loose touch. They are linked by their passion for the VW-Camper, Johnny Cash and real Hop Bombs. When our first brew was due in October 2015, Scott came to Hamburg to join this adventure. And what should happen when two Hopheads are brewing together? A Double IPA with 100 IBU, five hop additions with Amarillo, Simcoe, Columbus and Chinook and 8,5% alc.

It is an honour for us to be the very first host for a Sierra Nevada Collaboration in Germany. Especially since Olli „saw the light“ at Sierra Nevada in Chico. Their Beers have impressed and inspired him so deeply that we decided to leave the US and go back to Germany to open up the Kehrwieder Kreativbrauerei. And now the first brew in our own brewhouse was a Collaboration with Sierra Nevada.
Since we only brewed a very small batch Old Skool and One Pint is not only a great partner for us but also distributes Sierra Nevada we decided to let them distribute the Old Skool.

Bottle. Murky amber color with white head. Aroma is cat piss, bready, caramel, petroleum. Taste is resinous, strawberry, cat piss, bready, caramel, some dead yeast. Bittersweet finish. Silky mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Ok, would probably be better without the sediment, but Oliver himself poured it like this.

33cl bottle. Intense hop flavour in the nose. The beer starts very intense. Lots of pine and resin, hop oils on a not too sweetish body. Great depth, the bitterness is high, the dribkability as well. Sessionable with intense sticky bitter hops. Great!

Dark blond with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have caramelised tropical fruit. Tastes a little furry and too bitter in the finish.
