Kriek eylenbosch cuvee 1987 9€ follow a 35 year old brown with a 28 year old Kriek from a closed lambic brewery. I like fruit beers. 5% Pouring a deep brownish red. The nose is sweet candied cherries with a hint of a medicinal character.  Medium bodied with a smooth silky mouthfeel. Fantastic flavor, brandied cherries, mild tartness, candy syrup. Sweet but delicious. Wow. Looking at the other rates guess I got a good bottle.

Bottle at Kulminator. 1987 vintage. Almost clear deep murky brown liquid with a small off-white head. Aroma of almonds, dust/cellar, barnyard, cardboard and lemon. Taste is light to medium sweet and light sour with notes of almonds, cherries, barnyard and sugar. Medium bodied with low carbonation. OK, sweet and too old.

1987 Vintage. 330mL bottle, pours a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of cherries and notes of oxidation. Flavour brings out heaps of cherries, cherry syrup, not really any oxidation, maybe a hint of cardboard. Amazing that this has held up so well. It's maybe slightly more oxidized than the Framboise. Very enjoyable stuff for a 27-year old beer, even with the syrupy cherry.

1987 bottle shared at the Kulminator. It pours deep red with a small bubbly head and some small particles at the bottle of the glass. The nose is sour cherry, tangy, fruit syrup and cherry tunes (throat lozenges). The taste is tangy cherry, light earth, sherbet, sour green apple, boiled sweets and jam with a smooth finish. Medium body, low carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. There’s not much to it really....it’s smooth, tangy and fairly drinkable. Fun to try nonetheless.

Re-rate (8 June 2013): Vintage 1993, 30L barrel @ In de Verzekering.
Deep brown red colour, beige head. Aroma of cherry, caramel, confiture, apple sauce and raisins. Hint of porto. Sweet flavour, raisins, caramel, cherry syrup and candy sugar. Cherry finish, caramel and raisins.
Nice, much better than the 25cL bottled version. Possibly pasteurised: no artificial sweeteners in this one as far as I could tell.
(draught @ De Dag van de Kriek, Eizeringen)

Initial rating (23 April 2013):
Caramel brown colour, slight white head. Aroma of confiture, caramel, molasses, light cherry and sweetener. Sweet flavour, caramel, syrup, light fruit and confiture. Well carbonated. Finish cherry and apple treacle (appelstroop)
(from 25cL bottle @ In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst - during the after-Tour de Geuze barbecue. Thanks for sharing, Geert!)

26/III/13 - 37.5cl bottle from Kulminator (Antwerpen) @ home - BB: not indicated, but must have been an early 80ies vintage (2013-271)

Clear dark amber to ruby red beer, no head. aroma: lots of cherry candy, surprisingly actually. A bit mouldy, sweet and sugary. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty sweet and fruity, cherry candy, a bit aged. Aftertaste: lots of cherry candy, sweet, slightly lemony acidity, mouldy again. Probably not a "real" cherry beer, but with added syrup and pasteurised after bottling.

1987 bottle shared by Bobby at the Grand Tasting 2012 LA. Brownish red. Nice lush cherry nose. Not funky. Flavor is pretty decent cherry, though not very interesting as a lambic. Aged well, though, and very smooth.
