Our Victory at Sea Imperial Porter is a bold, smooth brew with just the right amount of sweetness. 22 oz. bottle. Pours pitch black, with a big, brown, bubbly head and lots of lacing. The aroma is bitter coffee, a touch of vanilla, a little syrup, and some harsh rye. Sweet flavor, with significant, roasty, unpleasant bitterness. Heavy body, silky, and thick. This is a reasonably tasty porter, but the excessive roast flavors aren’t my thing.

Draught @ Ginger Man. Inky dark brown with small spongy tan head, coffee beans aroma with a hint of vanilla, low carbonation, complex taste starting vanilla sweet and ending coffee bitter, full body, long bitter finish. Tastes more like a stout.

650ml bottle from trade with RobertDale. Thank you Bob! Black color with beige brown head. Roasted malty aroma, lot of coffee, some cocoa and chocolate, light fruits. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma, espresso coffee and cocoa. Almost full oily to creamy body with soft carbonation.

Bottle, by way of trade with Saeglopur. Clear, very dark, chestnut brown. Thin, lasting, tan head. Rich, fruity chocolate. Nuts, and vanilla. This is basically a liquified, boozed up bar of Cadbury’s Fruit and Nut. Which is a very good thing. Taste is musvoado sugar sweet. Some vine fruit, woody, dryness. Hint of coffee bean bitter. Smooth, rich, way under the ABV palate. Finishes long, fruity, chocolatey bitter. Fantastic beer. Silly easy drinking. Cheers Thomas!

Keg at Brewdog Birmingham; opaque black pour with a thin tan head, deep roast coffee, treacle and chocolate aroma, rich coffee, dark chocolate, some molasses, a hint of vanilla, pleasant viscous mouthfeel, delightful.

Keg at Brewdog, Shepherds Bush, London. A very dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium dense beige head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee, vanilla aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, coffee, vanilla, some chocolate too. Rich with a slight sweetness. Gorgeous Imperial Stout from Ballast Point.
